About 1st Corps
Kingmaker Miniatures was originally established by Stephan Hales (Little Big Men Studios) and Julian Blakeney-Edwards (Chiltern Miniatures and Valiant Miniatures).
We, Simon and Michael Curtis of 1st Corps and Curteys Miniatures bought the company in August 2008 to allow Steve and Julian to concentrate on their other projects. Thanks guys.
We aim to expand on the existing superb Hussite range with more foot, mounted variants and opponents to cover all the major armies of the period in the east and west. We welcome feedback and suggestions for future figures.
The first offering is a comprehensive range of 28mm figures covering the Hussite Wars. This fascinating period witnessed a revolution in Medieval battlefield tactics with the introduction of the war wagon and a huge increase in firearms. It pitted the predominantly peasant Hussite armies against Catholic Church forces consisting knights and men at arms.
The figures have been sculpted by Jim Bowen and Ian Mountain whilst the war wagons masters were created by Ian Armstong. This collaboration has created a comprehensive range of figures and ordnance. Customers can be assured they will not have to wait for the range to be completed.
Stephen Hales has designed a superb range of shield, pavise and banner transfers to compliment the range.
